Colombo is Sri Lanka’s largest and busiest port, serving as a transshipment hub in South Asia. Strategically located along major East–West shipping routes, it handles a wide range of cargo including containers, bulk, and liquid products. With high vessel traffic and well-developed infrastructure, Colombo is the primary hub for bunkering, offshore services, and maritime support operations.
Galle is a naturally sheltered port located along the southwest coast, in close proximity to the main East–West maritime route. Primarily used for offshore services, crew changes, and smaller-scale operations, it offers a convenient and low-deviation stop for vessels.
