Interocean Energy (Pvt) Ltd (IOE), a subsidiary of the McLarens Group, is a leading licensed marine fuel supplier, providing reliable bunker supply solutions across all major ports in Sri Lanka, including Colombo, Galle, Trincomalee, and Hambantota.

As a BOI-approved and fully licensed entity, IOE is authorised to import, export, distribute, and supply marine petroleum fuels across Sri Lanka. The company is ISO 9001:2015 certified and operates in compliance with international marine fuel standards, ensuring quality, safety, and reliability throughout its operations.

Supported by dedicated bunker barge infrastructure and an experienced marine operations team, IOE delivers efficient and internationally compliant fuel solutions tailored to the evolving demands of regional and global vessel operators.

2008
Founded in 2008
Founded in 2008 with a single bunker barge, MT KANDY, IOE began its journey with a clear vision to deliver reliable marine fuel solutions across Sri Lanka. Starting operations in Colombo, Hambantota, and Galle, the company steadily built a reputation for service excellence, operational eciency, and trusted partnerships.
2016
Demand grew up
As demand grew, so did IOE’s ambitions. In 2016, the company expanded into Trincomalee Port with the acquisition of MT Ocean Trinco, becoming one of only two authorised operators in the port alongside Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC). This milestone marked a new chapter in IOE’s nationwide presence and strategic growth.
2018
Fleet Strengthened with MT Ocean Lanka
Continuing its momentum, IOE further strengthened its eet in 2018 with the addition of MT Ocean Lanka, the largest capacity barge in Sri Lanka and enhancing service capabities to meet the evolving needs of the maritime industry.

Strategically located along major East–West shipping routes, it handles a wide range of cargo including containers, bulk, and liquid products. With high vessel traffic and well-developed infrastructure, Colombo is the primary hub for bunkering, offshore services, and maritime support operations.

Galle

Galle is a naturally sheltered port located along the southwest coast, in close proximity to the main East–West maritime route. Primarily used for offshore services, crew changes, and smaller-scale operations, it offers a convenient and low-deviation stop for vessels. Its location makes it ideal for quick turnaround services and support activities.

Hambantota

Hambantota is a modern deep-sea port located on the southern coast, positioned close to key international shipping lanes. Designed as a multipurpose and industrial port, it handles Ro-Ro cargo, bulk commodities, and energy-related shipments. With ongoing development and expansion, Hambantota is emerging as a growing logistics and bunkering hub in the region.
